Bedford Senior Center: Simplify cooking through the week, come see us for lunch!

Whether you’re unable to cook at home or simply choose not to, we invite you to join our congregate meal program at Bedford Senior Center! Each day we serve a hot, nutritious meal at noon, open to anyone 60 years of age or older with a 24-hour notice if you plan to attend. We welcome you to join our morning activities, then stay for lunch.  The congregate meal plan is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery. Cost to our local Area Agency on Aging is $3.74 per meal and suggested donation of just $3.00 to those attending the center that day. The meal consists of a protein, starch, vegetable, dessert or fresh fruit along with bread and milk to cover daily food group requirements. Special meals are provided for celebrations during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The menu can be found on the Huntingdon Bedford Fulton Area Agency on Aging website www.hbfaaa.org/lunch-menu and in the Bedford Gazette. If you are a member of the Bedford Senior Center, the menu and activities are included in your monthly newsletter. Non-members can join for an annual fee of $10 and will make you eligible to receive information about trips and activities we provide year-round. Transportation to our center is available through the “CART” Program, also provided by the Area Agency on Aging. Cost is $1.00 each way. For additional information about our meal program or to learn more about our center, call 814-623-5140, Monday through Friday from 8AM to 3PM.
