The Bloody Run Canoe and Kayak Classic 2019

Get Ready To Take On The River!

From Timeless in Bedford County Magazine No. 2

Approaching its 37th year, the Bloody Run Canoe and Kayak Classic 2019 is almost here! Since the very beginning in 1982, this five-mile race on the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River has invited enthusiasts from all over to spend the day doing what they love!

Taking place Saturday, April 27th, the race and fun float start with registration at the Union Hotel, 128 Main Street in downtown Everett, from 9 to 11 that morning. Shuttled participants will need to have their boats dropped at the starting point by 11AM. Once signed in, transportation leaves at 11:30AM for the river.

If you’re not planning to be on the water that day, they have plenty for you to do too. Enjoy the Bloody Run Classic Festival with food available, music from DJ Chris, a Cruise-In at 11AM, then join in their “Flop the Block” walk at 1PM. They have Rubber Duck Races scheduled at 2PM, and they invite all spectators to cheer on friends and loved ones taking part in the race.

Admission to this family, fun-filled, community event is free and open to the public. For more information about the festival, visit the Everett Area Better Business Association Facebook Page, email Amber at asnyder@everettlibrary.org, or call 814-652-5922.
