In the last issue of Generations Magazine we highlighted a local animal rescue, Mending Hearts, with the story “Leaving Paw Prints on the Heart.” The response and the readers contributions were overwhelming. They wanted to say, “Thank you!”
LuAnne Hilling Wolf, stated, “We were so blessed! The wonderful businesses that sponsored the story, Hollidaysburg Auto Parts, Reliable Tire, JustJak’s, and Lawruk Machine & Tool, thank you so much for your donation of an ad to spread awareness for our rescue! After the story, we had animals who had been in our shelter for a long time finally find their forever homes. The donation items we are always in need of increased and so did monetary donations. It has helped us continue care for the animals and provide them the shelter they need until loving homes are found.”
Although Mending Hearts is always in need of items they have one their wish list, they are still in need of some sizable donations. LuAnne says, “We appreciate all donations. However, we are in desperate need of new flooring for our rescue. Whether in form of monetary donations, or if someone can donate materials and/or their time to do the flooring for us would be greatly appreciated! The floor is in terrible shape and we and the animals have a hard time in bad weather with slipping on it. We also need a building for an indoor turnout. This would allow the animals to get exercise in inclement weather. This is a dream we have for the animals!”
To make a donation to Mending Hearts, tax-deductible monetary donations should be mailed to: Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
