Are you going through breast cancer, or do you know someone who is?

Introducing the first peer-led Breast Cancer Support Group in Bedford County, brought to you by the Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund. The first support group meeting will be held this Wednesday, January 29th from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Everett Church of the Brethren.

Refreshments will be provided! If you can't make it to this meeting, be sure to mark your calendar! Future meetings will be scheduled monthly on the last Wednesday of each month.

You don't have to do this alone. We're here for you.

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which gave women the right to vote! Can you believe it?

On January 28th, 2020, the Bedford County Commissioners are taking action to declare 2020 as the year of commemoration of the anniversary. There's also plenty of fun events happening throughout the year! See below:

• "Liber Tea"
Join the Justice Belles of Bedford County as well as the Bedford County Historical Society for some "Liber Tea", celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment!
Join us on Saturday, March 14th, at 2 p.m. at the Hall at Kinton's Knob. Pre-registration is required, $20 per person. Call the Bedford County Historical Society for more information at (814) 623-2011.

• The 2020 Pioneer Quilt Challenge
The Bedford County Historical Society is issuing a challenge to a quilters with a theme of "19th Amendment: Women's Right to Vote"! Your quilt must feature some aspect of the 19th Amendment or the campaign to pass the amendment and can be made in your choice of design/pattern and colors. Please include a small summary explaining your quilt. Quilt registration is set for September 25th, 1-4 p.m. & September 26th, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Quilt Show will take place October 3-11, 2020.
